Light on the Rock

Welcome to Light on the Rock

Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread begins the new round of God’s feast days, which show His plan of Salvation. First, God makes a way for our sins to be washed away in the blood of His Lamb, Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God (John 1:29; 1 John 1:7, 9). When God sees the blood of the Lamb, He does Pass Over our sins (Ex. 12:12). Our own death penalty for our sin is 100% paid for by the blameless Lamb, Yeshua, our Salvation who offered himself. His sacrifice also removes God’s wrath on us because of our sins, restores our relationship with Him and one another, and reconciles us to Father and one another. Then in the resurrection of the Anointed One, HE becomes our life (Col 3:3-4). We are now crucified with Christ (Gal 2:20-21) and follow HIM.

We eat Unleavened Bread each day for seven days (Ex 12:15), picturing us taking in Christ as our new life completely.  Throwing out leavening pictures us throwing out our old life and now taking in Jesus every day. HE is what the unleavened bread pictures. It does not picture us, for we still sin. Unleavened bread is bread that has never before been leavened and won’t ever be leavened. That only can picture the perfect Christ. Praise God and bless His holy name and Jesus our Salvation, our Yeshua. Check out our blogs too.

HAVE A WONDERFUL and meaningful Passover season.

Your brother in Yeshua,  Philip Shields

I remember a sermon in church from when I was maybe 15-16 years old. That’s going back 55 years or more. Some sermons just stick in your memory forever and this was one of them. The preacher asked us all – “If I could give you your choice, whic...

Many of you understand that we are to avoid taking the Passover in an unworthy manner, or “unworthily” as KJV says (1 Cor. 11:27-29) but are to first examine ourselves. What does that mean?  Over the years I’ve actually known people who decided ...

Someone told someone near and dear to me that he obviously didn’t have the faith to be healed, as he has been suffering with severe neck and back plus nerve pain for many years. The “logic” went like this: “If you had real faith, you’d be healed.&nbs...

All scriptures are NKJV unless noted otherwise.  Whose belief or action was said to be so strong that it was accounted to him for righteousness? If you instinctively answered, “Abraham, of course” (Genesis 15:6), you’d be correct -- but not comp...
