Sat, May 27, 2017
by
Philip Shields
Duration:
1 hr 13 mins 44 secs
What are your sabbath days like? Holy, enjoyable, refreshing, restful and happy – or a drag and boring? This message explores how to make the sabbath a more productive and holy time. We explore why I call it your “date” with your future husband Yeshua. How would you prepare for a date with Christ? Why am I calling it a “date” or “appointment”? Should you buy anything on the sabbath? Is any work allowed? What personal activities would be recommended – and which ones not? All this and more are in this message. Let others know about this topic. We all could use it.

The True Sabbath Day of God, Part I
Tue, May 09, 2017
by
Philip Shields
Series:
Sabbath
Duration:
1 hr 9 mins 57 secs
Though originally posted in 2008, the material in this sermon series is timeless. Whether you keep the 7th day Sabbath or not, I urge you to hear this 3-part series. I promise, it will be worth your time. Most Christians believe the 7th Day Sabbath was changed to Sunday in the New Testament to honor the resurrection of Jesus. This 2 or 3 part series will address the major issues: Has the Sabbath been fulfilled and therefore no longer required? Was the Sabbath in force before Mt. Sinai? Is the Sabbath a more important commandment than others? Was the Sabbath just for Israel and not Gentiles? How can we even be sure which day now - since Creation - is the 7th day? This first sermon will challenge long held notions, no matter from which camp you come!

The True Sabbath Day of God, Part II
Tue, May 09, 2017
by
Philip Shields
Series:
Sabbath
Duration:
1 hr 17 mins 23 secs
Recorded originally in 2008, you’ll find this 3-part Sabbath series helpful information. Do you worship God out of tradition – or according to God's word? This message will encourage you to freshly examine the Sabbath of God. Did Jesus really break the Sabbath? Did He and the apostles change the 7th Day Sabbath to Sunday worship to honor the resurrection? Or, is there now no Sabbath required in the New covenant, because Jesus is our rest? Did the New Testament Gentiles keep the Sabbath? Will the Sabbath be kept forever and ever? These and more will be addressed in this message.

The True Sabbath Day of God, Part III
Tue, May 09, 2017
by
Philip Shields
Series:
Sabbath
Duration:
1 hr 20 mins
Recorded originally in 2008, you’ll find this 3-part Sabbath series helpful information. We explore and explain various scriptures some use to tout their teaching that God's Sabbath commandment has either been annulled or fulfilled in Christ. Jesus warned us not to minimize God's commands by our traditions (Mark 7:7-13). We end with a brief summary of how the 4th century "Christian" practices regarding Sabbath/Sunday worship had become quite different from Sabbath practices observed by the earliest believers, which we studied in sermon #2. We pray this message will help dedicate you to obeying God's 4th commandment instead of popular custom.

Why Most Jews Reject Yeshua (Jesus)
Fri, Apr 07, 2017
by
Philip Shields
Duration:
1 hr 18 mins 33 secs
Yeshua came as a Jew. But Jews for the most part reject him as the Messiah. Why? Don’t be so hard on the Jews. There are strong reasons why they find it hard to receive him as their Savior or Messiah. We WILL see more and more Jews come to recognize and accept their Jewish Savior. This sermon will help you understand where they’re coming from. If you’re a Jew listening to this, I’d love your comments and feedback.

FERVENT prayer
Sat, Mar 11, 2017
by
Philip Shields
James 5:16 says the fervent prayers of righteous people are the ones that “avail much”. ARE our prayers “fervent”? Do you feel you could use a pep talk to put more spark and fervency into your praying? This teaching defines fervency in prayer and gives several examples of fervent prayer. Can a silent prayer be fervent? Do fervent prayers have to be loud, long, or animated? Find out, from scriptural examples.. Many of us could benefit from this teaching about the power of fervent prayer.

Depth and Totality of Christ’s Sacrifice
Sat, Feb 25, 2017
by
Philip Shields
Duration:
1 hr 19 mins 36 secs
Almost everyone professing to be a Christian knows that Christ, the son of God, died for our sins and thereby took away the death penalty of our sins. That’s already deeply profound. In this teaching we explore several other deeply meaningful things he did for us. What else was taken away when he took away our sins? But do you and I LET him take all of these other things away, or do we insist on clinging to some consequences of sin? Let this Passover be more meaningful because of understanding the depth and totality of Christ’s sacrifice.

Are you “LED by the Holy Spirit?” Romans 8:14
Sat, Dec 17, 2016
by
Philip Shields
Only those who are led by our God’s Spirit are children of God (Romans 8:14). Too many of us are led by our own emotions, fears, concerns, public opinion, or even by our church or pastor – anything or anyone but the holy spirit! In this sermon discover what “being led by” God’s spirit looks like, how it happens, and what can stop it. What does it mean to be led by the spirit, according to scripture? This is such an important topic.

What believers must do for their country
Sun, Nov 20, 2016
by
Philip Shields
President Kennedy once famously said ‘Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country”. What CAN you and I do about our country and the perils it faces? What about the most recent US election? Should we just remain quiet and do nothing in such a time as this – or is our God looking for more from us? Or should we just say we are part of the heavenly city and just have nothing to do with our physical country? This message applies to people from anywhere in the world.
