Welcome to Light on the Rock Ministries

Remember to scroll down to get to the sermons and blogs below.

We here at Light On the Rock will NOT have Christmas trees or decorations, yule logs, or Christmas gifts. You won’t hear Christmas music in our homes about the lies like Rudolph the flying red nose reindeer or Santa Claus or dreaming of a white Christmas. We believe God forbids us from any of that. Use the Search bar at the upper right hand corner and type in “Christmas”. We have MANY sermons and blogs addressing all angles of this subject, and they will explain clearly why we know we are to have nothing to do with Christmas. God and Jesus the Christ are NOT honored, happy or pleased with people trying to worship them with paganism.

The Children of God cannot mix worship of the true God by including customs of the pagan world and think this is OK with our God. It is NOT.  Paul said we can’t partake of the Lord’s table and the table of demons at the same time.  Aaron tried this with the gold calf. Do you realize Aaron said they would call it a feast day of worship to YHVH, as he presented the gold calf to Israel?  God was SO provoked by this (Exodus 32:5-6).  Doing that made it even worse.

So stay out of Christmas as much as possible, and worship the true God in the true way.  Study the many articles, blogs and sermons I have about how God really sees all this.  For many of you, it might just open your eyes.

Your brother in the Christ,

Host and Founder, Philip Shields.

Anyone who has read more than a few chapters of the Bible soon comes to realize that the Scriptures contain some things that are meant to be understood figuratively or symbolically rather than literally – as when Jesus said that he was a door (John 1...

How wonderful, though we know Christ was not born Dec 25th, how wonderful it is that he was born as our Savior.  We believe all the evidence points to a birth in the fall, probably either on the Feast of Trumpets or possibly even the first day o...

Yes, I recently preached a video sermon on Revelation 21:7 “He who OVERCOMES shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he will be my son.”  Overcomers get to inherit all things. The next verse shows clearly what happens to those who do...

Over the course of time, we’ll all see different viewpoints on this question on my title. Some feel, since God is love that surely God therefore would never ever be the One causing any disasters, catastrophes or “bad things” of life that often end up...

So many teach and believe that when we pray “thy kingdom come”, that we’re referring to the millennial thousand-year reign of Christ. We use phrases like “the soon-coming Kingdom of God” – and to many, that’s referring to the thousand year reign of C...

What on earth does Romans 12:20 mean? Many have asked. Let’s take a look at it.  Romans 12:20 – "If your enemy is hungry, feed him;  If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head." This verse is...
