Welcome to Light on the Rock

So glad to have you all come and visit our FREE website, where we have over 125 sermons and lots of short articles or blogs (see LOTR Blogs).   Brothers and sisters from 70 countries come to this site.  Welcome to all of you.  Many of you visit us from China, Russia, the Philippines, the UK, Italy, France, Canada, Australia and of course, the USA and dozens of other countries.  Don’t keep us a secret. Tell your friends.  We worship our dear Father (whom I often call Abba), God Most High and His Son – Yeshua the Messiah, more commonly known as Jesus Christ.  We keep the sabbath and live by faith in His grace, as He transforms our lives in the Messiah through the Holy Spirit.

Let’s look ahead at our great and high calling. We don’t want to look back.  Let’s come together and each do our part in the body of Christ. Feel free to contact me.

Hear your Love Story, your "goel" Redeemer, Gleanings and threshing floor times...it's all here. On Pentecost (Shavuot in Hebrew), the book of Ruth is often read and discussed. Why? Find out in this teaching. Learn about YOUR kinsman redeemer, your "goel" - your eternity depends on it. Are you in a "threshing floor" time of your life? Learn what that means. Learn the lessons of courage and faith that remarkable Ruth will teach us all. We'll read this book with a spiritual outlook as we apply famines of the word of Yehowah, and marriage of set-apart believers to their King. This short book is really not just about Ruth and Boaz - but about you and your marriage to your King, your divine Redeemer.

Day of Remembrance plus shofar blasts, shouts of joy and alarm. Usually called “Feast of Trumpets”, or “Yom Teruah” in the original Hebrew, which means “day of blasts, joyful shouts and acclamation”. Why it’s often called “Feast of TRUMPETS”. It is the first of the last four appointed times to meet with Yahweh in the Fall. It is called the Day of Remembrance and a memorial of “teruah”. Find out what else happened on this day and what this holyday could be picturing ahead for us. Why we don’t call it “Rosh Hashanah”. All this and more.

Jeff Niccum explores various exciting aspects of Pentecost in a way few others do. We don’t have the audio available for now but his notes will enthrall you. Highly recommended reading for this Pentecost, originally given a few years ago.

Biblical information is timeless. We are re-posting sermons given previously for your enjoyment. Have a wonderful feast. God's final holyday each year after the seven day feast of Tabernacles is simply called "the 8th Day" in Scripture. Jews call it "Shemini Atzeret" - which also points to 8th. Hear how "8" points to new beginnings, new starts. So the 8th Day Festival can't be about a "LAST Great Day" at all, but about an incredible FIRST NEW DAY - when all things will be made NEW. This sermon is not what Jews are teaching. Nor is it entirely like what is being taught in most Church of God sermons about this day. Find out what it really is all about. Discover Yeshua's tie to Adam and Eve. We hope you will be thrilled as Father lets us catch just a glimpse of what is coming for all who now love Him or will come to love Him and His beloved Son. We're re-running the 2012 sermons as the information is timeless, just the dates have changed.

Biblical information is timeless. We are re-posting sermons given previously for your enjoyment. Have a wonderful feast. The 7th day of the Feast of Tabernacles, the last day of the feast, is a very meaningful day. There's more information than I've shared before about this day. Jews have called this day, "Hoshana Rabbah" for millennia - meaning the "Great Salvation" or "Save us, O Great One". Even in the days of Yeshua (Jesus) it was the Great Day of the Feast. Find out why. Find out why water was poured out and why "the Pierced One" led priests around the altar 7 times on this day. Discover the correction for God's people from the prophet Haggai on this very day. Why were there 7 final bulls sacrificed? Read John 7:37-39 and why Yeshua said what He said on this day at the precise moment He did. Find out why humanity will be crying out for King Yeshua (Jesus) to save them this late in the Millennium...and much more.

Biblical information is timeless. We are re-posting sermons given previously for your enjoyment. Have a wonderful feast. Learn all about the main points concerning the Feast of Tabernacles as we celebrate the reign of our beloved King Yeshua. Why we dwell in booths. Do Christians have to keep the Feast? What is the Feast pointing to? What was to be done every 7 years at the Feast? How can you and I have a most wonderful Feast of Tabernacles? And - Happy Feast to all of you. I'll try to have more messages later.

Biblical information is timeless. We are re-posting sermons given previously for your enjoyment. Have a wonderful feast. Though Philip originally preached this in 2009, it never got posted on the website though the material is timeless. Is YHVH's kingdom - our kingdom - real to you? Is it truly the center of your hopes and dreams? Can you "see" it, can you feel it? Are you practically there, in it, because the Kingdom is so real to you? As we end the Feast of Tabernacles picturing the Millennial rule of our King, let this message inspire you for another year. There will not be a transcript for this message so you'll have to hear the audio.

This message is not only about Yeshua's blood, but also about Father's love, whose idea it was to find a way to wash away ALL our sins in the blood of His Word, who became flesh - Yeshua (Jesus). You'll appreciate the crimson thread of the promise of the blood of Christ woven through scripture. You'll need the printed notes to see the diagrams, signs and photo as you hear the audio. I'm sorry I spoke so fast to get thru it all. See what the camp of Israel looked like from the air. Hear something intriguing about Golgotha. Be inspired by the "hidden-in-plain sight" message the pagan Pilate put over the head of our Messiah. . . and much, much more. Embrace Father's love. Receive our Savior's loving sacrifice, amen.

This 2-part sermon is to help us be mentally and spiritually ready to take the Passover service. We discuss the 2 sides of Passover: the incredible love of God as well as the incredible severity of God (Romans 11:22). Why does it take so much innocent blood to be shed in order to forgive sin? We explain. In Part 1 - we also introduce the beginning of "the crimson thread" throughout scripture pointing to the coming Messiah. For example, why did Isaac carry the wood to his own sacrifice? When was our Savior sacrificed - at least in God's mind? Also we go in depth into the many things our dear Father provides for us through the blood of His Son, the Christ (it's much, much more than just being forgiven of our sins). This sermon ends with us beginning to explore the nuances of Exodus 12. (To be continued in part 2).

The Feast of Pentecost/Shavuot is one of the divine appointments with Yahweh (Lev. 23:1-2). So much happened on this day. This teaching goes into many of the important aspects of this amazing feast day. Enjoy the message as you dig into the depths of this wonderful day. (Note: the first 6 minutes of the audio was not recorded properly, so it starts about 1-1/2 pages into the transcript.)

Our Messiah, Jesus the Christ (or Yeshua, as I prefer), cried out at the end of the Water Libation ceremony on the last day of the Feast. Which day was always called "the Great Day" and still is? In context, what was the meaning of His words? Who was it pointing to? Why were 70 bulls sacrificed? Why were the priests led by a flutist called "the Pierced One"? Learn how their Salvation (Yeshua) was "hiding in plain sight". John 7:37-39 is explained in context. Hear what is usually missed about this day and message.

This touching account about Barabbas will change how you read that story forever, especially in the Passover season. Don't miss the teaching imbedded in a story so personal, and involving each of us so much, that all four gospels include it. Only 27 minutes long.

It's inspiring to see how perfectly Yeshua the Messiah fulfilled to the tiniest detail, the picture shown by the Passover lamb. This message shows how God's holydays actually rehearse future events in precise detail, down to the exact minute. What happened on the 10th of the month in Jesus' life? What exact words were sung at His last Passover? Did Yeshua help His Father deleaven? This and more.

We present fresh material and review what is commonly known, about the footwashing, broken matzah and red wine and how these depict our relationship with Jesus and the first step of God's plan of salvation. Also: the Jewish Seder, why the 15th is called "the Night to be Much Observed", why 4 cups of wine at the Seder and why Jesus did not drink the 4th cup. Meaning of "The Cup"; the engagement to Christ; Cana's significance, and more!

We examine keeping Passover "in a worthy manner". We must face and overcome sin. We look at "sins of ignorance" versus intentional or defiant sins. Scripture has strong warnings especially about sin not done in ignorance. Recognizing the Body, lest we take Passover unworthily and bring condemnation on ourselves. Take the Passover after careful examination, fully prepared and in a worthy manner.

Why do so many celebrate the pagan Easter holiday instead of God's festival of the Wavesheaf, which celebrates Christ the Firstfruits and His resurrection the Biblical way? Without Wavesheaf Sunday, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, none of the other prophecies about God's kingdom would happen. Hear and read about this fascinating "forgotten festival".

This sermon continues where the last one left off: events leading to the return of King Jesus. The possible timetable after the 7th trumpet is blown. The 7 Last Plagues - in one day, or over months? When is the Marriage of the Lamb? Where will it be? Who performs the wedding? Will the world welcome Jesus' return? We explore prophecies about the coming captivity of end-time Israelites, including Americans, Britons, Canadians, Aussies, and Jews - and the good ending to that story.

Feast of Trumpets sermon, part 1 (Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006). This begins God's Fall holydays and the final countdown in God's Plan of Salvation for mankind, and the 10 "Days of Awe" leading to Atonement. Find out why "Rosh Hashanah" is the wrong name. What is prophesied to happen before Jesus returns? How close are we to His return? Are we in "the Last Days"?

How many times have you wondered why there seems to be less healing today? This sermon will give you one or two huge reasons why, and what we can do to receive God's healings more frequently. This is a timely message to hear before the Passover and the footwashing. (Given originally in 2004, its message is even more timely today.)

Were you full of JOY at the wonders of Passover and Days of Unleavened Bread? While Passover is solemn as we honor our Lord's death, it is also an upbeat time of joy, relief, renewal and new life. We look at how Hezekiah, Josiah, Jesus and the early church kept Passover and Days of UB and compare it to our experience today.
