Welcome to Light on the Rock

We’ve marveled at our Savior through the Passover season and now count the days to Pentecost – which means “count 50”. Yes, the early believers kept the Feasts of Yah (Leviticus 23) and the new covenant “ekklesia” actually started on Pentecost, one of those divine appointments and received the gift of the Holy Spirit. The word for “Feast” in Hebrew (moed) actually means “appointed time” or appointment. We think of “feasts” as a time of plenty of food and drink – and that’s part of the meaning but the usual word used for that is “chag” (silent c) – meaning a feast day as we think of the word.

In the coming weeks we’ll focus on the first of the divine appointments – the holy weekly sabbath, instituted by God himself resting on the 7th day of the week (Genesis 2:1-3). We’ll be covering other topics as well. Please also look at the blogs for interesting and educative topics. I welcome your comments and feedback. May our loving Father bless you all. Thank you for coming to this free site. Please let others know about this website if it is blessing you.

Wavesheaf Day - Christ IS RISEN! Day of firstfruits

by Philip Shields

"On the first of the weeks" after Yeshua's crucifixion, He ascended as the Wavesheaf offering, sanctifying the rest of the harvest of souls so that WE could be accepted by Father. Wavesheaf day is not a holyday, but IS a significant day. Learn about the exciting meaning of Wavesheaf day. Also learn exactly when Yeshua's (Jesus) resurrection took place. (This sermon was originally given in 2014 but it’s message is timeless. Focus especially on the last half of the sermon.)
