Welcome to Light on the Rock

We’ve marveled at our Savior through the Passover season and now count the days to Pentecost – which means “count 50”. Yes, the early believers kept the Feasts of Yah (Leviticus 23) and the new covenant “ekklesia” actually started on Pentecost, one of those divine appointments and received the gift of the Holy Spirit. The word for “Feast” in Hebrew (moed) actually means “appointed time” or appointment. We think of “feasts” as a time of plenty of food and drink – and that’s part of the meaning but the usual word used for that is “chag” (silent c) – meaning a feast day as we think of the word.

In the coming weeks we’ll focus on the first of the divine appointments – the holy weekly sabbath, instituted by God himself resting on the 7th day of the week (Genesis 2:1-3). We’ll be covering other topics as well. Please also look at the blogs for interesting and educative topics. I welcome your comments and feedback. May our loving Father bless you all. Thank you for coming to this free site. Please let others know about this website if it is blessing you.

Our EXCITING NEW NAMES in the kingdom

by Philip Shields

our name is special and yet the Almighty is going to give us 3-4 brand new names in His kingdom. What is a “name”? Why do we need new names? What will your new names be? We’re given some strong clues. WHO will be those receiving new names? Will your name include your Father’s and mother’s names – and more? Where will you be given those names? Find out all this and more in this encouraging message. Hear the audio with notes. Though originally given in 2004, this sermon has been totally updated with new material. So if you heard it before, you’ll be inspired to hear it again.
